Radnor Reflections, April 13, 2011

The mayapple is blooming this week at Radnor.  It grows in colonies, which we have been seeing for a few weeks, but the flower grows out from under the umbrella-like leaves, so you have to get low to look underneath.  It’s also a trick to avoid poison ivy during the search. That nasty stuff popped out of the ground overnight last Tuesday!
