Wingstem

Yellow Crownbeard

Radnor Reflections, September 8, 2011

The tall Wingstem, Verbesina alternifolia, opened its blooms in the midst of Radnor’s summer doldrums this week.  It had been raining for four days, compliments of hurricane Lee. We needed it, and the rain was steady, but not alarming, so we walked anyway.  One morning this week, there were only three cars in the parking lot when we arrived.  Unless there’s lightning, we’re walking!
